Warm Atlanta

Saturday we hit the streets-again-warming Atlanta up!  We had around 20 volunteers show up.  We walked around downtown Atlanta, giving gloves, hats, scarves and socks away.  The weather was perfect- we got to meet many new friends!  Everyone who participated and everyone we met were very blessed.  Keep up for more information on how to volunteer with Freestyle!

His reply Back (Jan 17th):

Dear Pastor Scott and church

Thank you so much for your email and appreciate it. We are very happy to know that, you are praying for us, we really appreciate that, your help will be a great blessing ,it will be greatly appreciated.
In the difficult time that we have right now, since after the earthquake , we already wined 179 people to Christ plus a witchdoctor , through this tragedy people get saved more than ever before.
I need you to send a team down to help me , It will be great blessing, but first , I am praying the Lord for the money to buy a piece of ground to built the church and the training center and than you could come down to help me. We are praying and believe God to meet all the needs because with God nothing is impossible .

May God bless you
Pastor Luc St Felix

So now you can see the need and how God is working in and through His church in Haiti. Will you partner with us to help Pastor Luc rebuild his church and pastoral training center? Pastor Luc has birthed 43 churches in Haiti, most of them residing in the mountain villages. He trains and sends pastors to plant churches all over the country. If we can help pastor Luc we can actually help all those churches who will in turn help thousands of people themselves!

New Year!

Wow- we have been busy here!  We apologize about the delayed blog.  We pray everyone has had a great new year so far!!

2009 was a great year.  We have a full breakdown of everything the Lord accomplished through Freestyle last year.  Click here to view it for yourself!

So far we have planned out a calendar of events for the upcoming year, and we have a lot for you to become involved with- from inner city outreach to foreign out- so keep checking back for new news!

As for our sad news, we are sure you have all heard about Haiti.  Since Freestyle has a personal connection in Haiti, this has deeply affected us.  The good news, though, is that our friend Pastor Luc and his family are OK!  However, his church, which included a medical clinic, has collapsed.  Scott had made plans prior to the quake to visit, and now he will continue with his plans to visit with Pastor Luc and see how we can help.  We hope to help rebuild the church that fell, as well as help other ministries.  You can become involved with this!  Make sure you are on our email list so you can stay connected!

Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to do what Jesus has called us to do- preach the Gospel and make disciples.  Thank you for all of your support!  We could not do this without you!!

Warm Atlanta

Last Saturday Freestyle hosted Warm Atlanta.  We had about 40 people join us to-literally- warm homeless men, women and children on the streets of Atlanta!

We all met Saturday morning, separating several items of warm clothing into bags.  After driving downtown, we walked around downtown Atlanta area, stopping at Woodruff and Hurt Park.  We gave out around 500 items including, coats, hats, gloves, scarves and more.  Several people were able to pray with those we met.  Scott gave a "mini sermon" right in the streets to all the people who were gathering, and most of those received prayer!

We had a great time!  Not only did we help the people on the streets, but our volunteers were touched as well.  We had a 10 year old boy volunteering with us, who was more outgoing and generous than all of us combined!  What a lesson to learn from him!!

Keep checking back for up-coming events for you to join in on!

Freestyle Fall Festival

Last Friday night, Freestyle had a fall festival for the families in an impoverished neighborhood in downtown Atlanta.  We had carnival games, hot dogs and hamburgers, apples, live performances, pumpkins, Cartoon Network prizes and more.  The whole evening it tried to rain, and it even drizzled some, but the Lord held it off so that we could bless the children with an evening of fall-style fun and the Gospel of Jesus.

There were hundreds of people that showed up.  Kids were running eveywhere playing games, getting their faces painted, eating food and dancing along with the music.  Towards the end of the night, Scott was able to share the Gospel with the familes that were there.  Many people raised their hands to receive prayer, and a lot of people made the decision to change their lives and except Christ.

Thanks to everyone who helped us out for this big event.  Keep checking our site for new events like this.  Also, check out the media page for photos from the fall festival.

Santa Cruz Bolivia

We just returned from a 10 day trip to Santa Cruz Bolivia!

We worked with Larry and Patty Morehead with YWAM Operation Restoration. They rescue kids living on the streets of Santa Cruz and give them a home. We were busy doing all types of work everyday that we were there!

We had a chance to preach  for 2 youth services and 1 Sunday morning service. The people were hungry to hear the Word of God and encounter Christ, and they did just that! Many flooded the alters during the prayer  time at the end of the service, after Scott gave the call. "It was an annointed night" says David. "I Wish we could have kept praying all night"...

One day we hit the streets. We went into the cities' sewer systems to meet the kids ages 7-17 who live down in the sewers. What we encountered was truley shocking, even to Scott. We saw children with these plastic bottles gripped in their hands stuck to there noses. They were almost all sniffing glue to get high. Most of them had bad cuts, skin problems and open wounds. The sight would have made anybody take a step back.

We started to hang out and get to know the kids, and thats when we met Daniel. He was a 10 year old boy. He was very high as we were talking with him. We asked him after a while if he was ready for a new life. He said "yes", and then he wandered away back under the bridge where they sleep. Scott followed him ans saw that he was back there asking his friend if he wanted to go with him. His friend looked up at Scott and Scott asked him if he was hungry. He said yes and so they both came out from under the street. Daniel's friends' name was Johnothan and he was 14 years old.

At that time we took both Daniel and Johnothan to go eat. We started talking with them both seperatly about going to the home. The bad news was we could only take 1. Larry said it never works out if they both go at once. So how can we make that choice? As we were talking with Daniel he was expressing he would go only if his friend would go. Johnothan was saying that he would go no matter who went, he said he would go alone! He just needed to start a new life!

So you can probably guess what happened... We took Johnothan! Gave him a new start! A new life! We took him to his new home where he took a shower, got new clothes, and got all cleaned up on the outside. Then the best thing happened! We started to minister to him. We starting to share the Gospel of Christ. He was opened to receiving whatever the Lord had for him. We asked him if he wanted to repent from all the things he had done. He said Yes! He immediatly started praying. This prayer was so annointed that it is hard to describe. He was praying  for forgiveness from sin, drugs, stealing. Basically the street life. After he prayed, we then prayed for him and over him!

At that time, we had started a bonfire in the backyard. We said if he was done with his old life, he should take his old clothes and everything that represents his "old man" and throw it in the fire! He did! This verse became real to him , 2 Cor 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

That is just a small part of the many stories that happened in Santa Cruz. We hope to talk with you in more detail about the trip!

Weekend of Champions Prison Outreach

ScottFree visited 3 different prisons and jails last weekend. Scott preached in different pods where the inmates are housed. The messages were powerful and gripped the inmate’s hearts. Hundreds if not thousands gave there life to the Lord and thier names were given to the prison chaplains for follow up.

One young man Scott was praying with after the message was only 17 years old. He was charged as an adult for a double murder. He said he really needed to talk with Scott. The Lord was dealing with his heart as Scott went over to speak with him. He mentioned wanting God to change his life. Scott prayed with him and the young man asked Jesus to come in his heart and cleanse him from ALL unrighteousness! Scott wrote down his mailing address and said he would start to write him. They didn’t talk much about his past, but they did talk about his future in Christ! Now that young man is a new creation. He might not ever get out of jail or prison, but he HAS been set FREE!

There are many more stories just like this one from visiting the jails and prisons this last weekend. We saw  many grown men in tears and seen God working right before our eyes!

Maximum Impact

September 19th The Heart of HipHop linked up with like 15 other ministries and had the opportunity to preform and preach for 1300 people or more.

Maximum impact is changing the look of a part of Atlanta that is known as the Red Light District. We minister to prostitutes, drug dealers, addicts and transitional families living in the motels on the strip. We met practical needs such as food, clothes, medical and were able to plug people into rehabs or shelters if needed!

God used us to do a mighty work in peoples lives that day! Many people came up to receive prayer from our team! Praise God.

Safehouse Outreach

Last night, we had our monthly Safehouse Outreach.  What a service!   The worship was annointed, and Scott spoke a powerful message about living a Holy life.  Many people were set free from addidctions and healed from physical afflictions.

It is amazing to be able to watch a person decide to turn their life around.  Join us on the second Sunday of every month to experience this for yourself!!

City Takers

Saturday was our monthly City Takers event with The Heart of Hip Hop.  Perfomances were made by Platinum Souls, Promise, Smooth T, Bishop and Jerm, D2O, and more- ending with a freestyle session with everyone involved.

ScottFree was able to preach the Gospel, as well as talk about taking our cities for God.  All who attended were encouraged to live a lifestyle that reflects Jesus, and to fulfill the commission of going into all the world.

We have a City Takers event every month.  You don't want to miss out!  Keep checking back for more information about the next one.
